- इसरो की ओर से दी गई जानकारी के मुताबिक निसार 30 तारीख की शाम 5:40 पर जीएसएलवी F-16 रॉकेट से सतीश धवन अंतरिक्ष केंद्र श्रीहरिकोटा से लॉन्च किया जाएगा।
- करीब $1.5 अरब डॉलर की लागत से तैयार यह सेटेलाइट अब तक का सबसे महंगा अर्थ ऑब्जरर्वेशन सेटेलाइट होगा।
- निसार धरती की निगरानी करने वाला दुनिया का पहला सेटेलाइट होगा। इसमें दो अलग-अलग बैंड के रडार हैं। यही वजह है कि यह घने जंगलों के नीचे भी आसानी से रडार के जरिए डाटा कलेक्ट करेगा।
- निसार हर 12 दिन में पूरी पृथ्वी को स्कैन करेगा और हाई रेजोल्यूशन सभी मौसमों में दिनरा के आंकड़े वह प्रदान करेगा।
- यह पृथ्वी की सतह में सूक्ष्म परिवर्तनों का भी पता लगा सकता है। इससे हमें पता चलेगा कि धरती पर जमी बर्फ कितनी है, जमीन कैसी है, इकोसिस्टम कैसे बदल रहा है, समुद्र का जलस्तर कितना है, और ग्राउंड वाटर के लेवल में भी क्या कुछ बदलाव हो रहे हैं।
